Other Voices returns to Cardigan this October - full programme now revealed!

We’re counting down the days until we return to West Wales this October for another incredible weekend of songs & stories ⛪

Now in its fourth year, this year's edition of Other Voices Cardigan will feature a weekend of world-class performances from St Mary's Church, live sets across The Music Trail from the very best emerging acts on the scene plus a series of mind-opening conversations & ideas at the Clebran Sessions - there is something for everyone at this year's festival. St Mary's Church - Livestreamed performances 27 & 28 October

This year's Church lineup will showcase the very best talent from the worlds of alt-pop, post-punk, folk, indie, and more on 26 & 27 October 2023. All performances will be presented by Huw Stephens and livestreamed via the OV YouTube at on the big screen Mwldan in the heart of Cardigan. The best way to nab a golden ticket to attend the recording of the livestreams is to grab your weekend wristband for the festival, which will give you unlimited access to both the Music Trail and the Clebran Sessions.

Friday 27 October

Coming to you live from St Mary's Church on Friday, 27 October, will be one of Wales' most exciting exports, The Joy Formidable, who make their Other Voices debut at the festival. They join alt-pop superstar Sans Soucis, extraordinary triple harpist Cerys Hafana, and the double Welsh Music Prize-winning rockers Adwaith on the Friday bill.

Saturday 28 October

OV favourite King Creosote returns to the Other Voices stage for a Church set on Saturday, 28 October, alongside Mercury Music Prize nominees Yard Act, gifted singer-songwriter Susan O'Neill, and Irish musical royalty Colm Mac Con Iomaire.

THE MUSIC TRAIL  26 - 28 October (Multiple venues)

Beyond the livestreamed performances the Music Trail will showcase over 30 live sets across the weekend from some Ireland and Wales' brightest new talents!

Over three days and nights our incredible line up will take over some of Cardigan's most beloved venues as part of this year's OV Cardigan.

From the pop perfection of Fia Moon to the lyrical prowess of grime's Mace The Great via the wall of sound that is Chalk, there is something for everyone on this year's Music Trail! A weekend wristband will give you access to ever show on the Music Trail all weekend long, on a first come, first served basis!

CLEBRAN

Cleban is the festival's ideas strand - a place where brilliant minds can gather to share stories, ideas and songs which celebrate the culture ties that bond us together.

Taking place at Mwldan in the heart of Cardigan, this year’s programme Clebran - Flowing Tides will consider the unprecedented challenges of our time, but also the possibilities, opportunities and solutions. These discussions will look at the local and the global, the periphery and the centre, community and wider society, and how small movements can bring about significant change.

This year’s Clebran features a collection of incredible speakers, including Author and broadcaster Jon Gower, harpist Cerys Hafana, Associate Professor of Early Modern History John Gallagher; writer, composer and performer Daf James; writer-director Tracy Spottiswoode; writer, podcaster and journalist Damian Kerlin; journalist and author Richard Fisher, Senior Lecturer in Applied Psychology Dr Sharon Lambert and historian, writer and reviewer Christopher Kissane, along with CN Smith, Deirdre de Bhailís, General Manager of Dingle Hub; Hanan Issa - National Poet of Wales; Rt Hon Mark Drakeford MS, First Minister of Wales; Sophie Mackintosh; and Wayne Howard. More speakers will be announced in the coming weeks. Clebran will take place in the afternoons/evenings of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday across the weekend.

Clebran yw llinyn syniadau’r ŵyl - man lle gall meddyliau disglair ddod at ei gilydd i rannu straeon, syniadau a chaneuon sy’n dathlu’r clymau diwylliannol sy’n ein rhwymo ynghyd.

Bydd rhaglen Clebran eleni, Llanw a Thrai, a gynhelir yn y Mwldan yng nghanol Aberteifi, yn archwilio heriau heb eu tebyg ein hoes, ond hefyd y posibiliadau, y cyfleoedd a'r atebion. Bydd y trafodaethau hyn yn ystyried y lleol a’r byd-eang, y cyrion a’r canol, y gymuned a’r gymdeithas ehangach, a sut y gall mudiadau bach greu newid mawr.

Bydd ffefryn Lleisiau Eraill King Creosote yn dychwelyd i lwyfan Lleisiau Eraill ar gyfer set Eglwys ddydd Sadwrn, 28 Hydref, ochr yn ochr ag enwebeion y Wobr Gerdd Mercury, Yard Act, y gantores-gyfansoddwraig ddawnus Susan O'Neill, ac un o fawrion Cerddoriaeth Iwerddon, Colm Mac Con Iomaire.Yn ychwanegol at berfformiadau’r Eglwys, byddwn yn cyflwyno dros 30 o setiau byw ar hyd y penwythnos gan rai o dalentau newydd mwyaf disglair Cymru ac Iwerddon! 

Dros dri diwrnod a thair noson bydd ein lein-yp rhyfeddol yn perfformio yn rhai o leoliadau mwyaf hoffus Aberteifi fel rhan o Leisiau Eraill Aberteifi. O berffeithrwydd pop Fia Moon i allu geiriol grime Mace the Great drwy wal sain Chalk, mae rhywbeth at ddant pawb ar hyd y Llwybr Cerdd eleni.Bydd band arddwrn penwythnos yn rhoi mynediad i chi i bob sioe ar y Llwybr Cerdd drwy’r penwythnos, ar sail y cyntaf i’r felin!

CLEBRAN

Clebran yw llinyn syniadau’r ŵyl - man lle gall meddyliau disglair ddod at ei gilydd i rannu straeon, syniadau a chaneuon sy’n dathlu’r clymau diwylliannol sy’n ein rhwymo ynghyd.

Bydd rhaglen Clebran eleni, Llanw a Thrai, a gynhelir yn y Mwldan yng nghanol Aberteifi, yn archwilio heriau heb eu tebyg ein hoes, ond hefyd y posibiliadau, y cyfleoedd a'r atebion. Bydd y trafodaethau hyn yn ystyried y lleol a’r byd-eang, y cyrion a’r canol, y gymuned a’r gymdeithas ehangach, a sut y gall mudiadau bach greu newid mawr. 

Mae Clebran eleni yn cynnwys casgliad o siaradwyr anhygoel, gan gynnwys yr Awdur a’r darlledwr Jon Gower, y delynores Cerys Hafana, yr Athro Cysylltiol mewn Hanes Modern Cynnar John Gallagher; yr awdur, y cyfansoddwr a’r perfformiwr Daf James; yr awdur-gyfarwyddwr Tracy Spottiswoode; yr awdur, y podlediwr a’r newyddiadurwr Damian Kerlin; y newyddiadurwr a’r awdur Richard Fisher, yr Uwch Ddarlithydd mewn Seicoleg Gymhwysol Dr Sharon Lambert a'r hanesydd, yr awdur a’r adolygydd Christopher Kissane, ynghyd â CN Smith, Deirdre de Bhailís, Rheolwr Cyffredinol y Dingle Hub; Hanan Issa - Bardd Cenedlaethol Cymru; Y Gwir Anrhydeddus Mark Drakeford AS, Prif Weinidog Cymru; Sophie Mackintosh; a Wayne Howard. Cyhoeddir mwy o siaradwyr yn ystod yr wythnosau nesaf. Bydd Clebran yn digwydd yn y prynhawn/nos ddydd Iau, dydd Gwener, a dydd Sadwrn ar hyd y penwythnos.

Mae band arddwrn Llwybr Cerdd yn rhoi mynediad anghyfyngedig i drafodaethau Clebran. 

Caiff Clebran ei guradu ar y cyd gan Ireland's Edge.

Mae gennym ystod o brofiadau lleol gan gynnwys prydau o fwyd, teithiau mewn cwch, dosbarthiadau coginio, gweithdai celf a diwrnodau antur, mae gennym hamperi yn llawn cynnyrch a chynhyrchion lleol gan gynnwys llestri bwrdd ceramig wedi'u crefftio'n gelfydd.
