High in Brighton | Live at Other Voices: Home 2023

Indie-pop crew FIZZ performed album single 'High in Brighton' at the Guinness Storehouse on November 21 as part of Other Voices: Home 2023 - and their first ever Irish gig. The band of four friends includes Dublin native Orla Gartland, a hugely successful producer and singer-songwriter in her own right, who is back after smashing her Dingle debut in 2021 ✨ Fellow musicians Dodie, Greta Isaac and Martin Luke Brown complete the collective. Born out of love and blind optimism, FIZZ came together in a whirlwind of pure joy and escapism. They treated the Storehouse to bangers from their 2023 debut album 'The Secret To Life'.

One of the sleeper hits of the series. Pure class. I'm resisting the urge to call them Magherafelt's finest. It's General Fiasco.

After offering to shave our presenter Aidan with a cut throat razor in the very splendid Baldy Barbers (there was none available) Mr. Yorkston took to the stage in the Glassworks armed with a guitar and a fiddle player and delivered a searing acoustic set. Our very own slumbering Scotsman. Brilliant.

They did a blindingly brilliant acoustic version of this while they were in Dingle, up in the old Christian Brother's School as it happens, and that's the version we used in the programme. Later on in the church they plugged in and did again...et voila!
