High in Brighton | Live at Other Voices: Home 2023
Indie-pop crew FIZZ performed album single 'High in Brighton' at the Guinness Storehouse on November 21 as part of Other Voices: Home 2023 - and their first ever Irish gig. The band of four friends includes Dublin native Orla Gartland, a hugely successful producer and singer-songwriter in her own right, who is back after smashing her Dingle debut in 2021 ✨ Fellow musicians Dodie, Greta Isaac and Martin Luke Brown complete the collective. Born out of love and blind optimism, FIZZ came together in a whirlwind of pure joy and escapism. They treated the Storehouse to bangers from their 2023 debut album 'The Secret To Life'.

She came all the way from Rock Island, Illinois in a "planes, trains and automobiles" sort of a way - well, mostly planes actually, but there were a lot of them - anyway the important part is we really didn't want to let her go. She's fantastic. She's Lissie.

Lisa Hannigan
If you're really, really lucky you get to witness something like this once in your life. This was Richard Hawley night in the Church of Saint James and his guets for the evening were his old pal Jarvis Cocker and our old pal Lisa Hannighan and she took this beautiful Mancini/Mercer composition and she ran of with it in a bag marked "SWAG". And for good measure she stole our hearts as well. Again. Enjoy. And then lie and tell people you were there.

Their appearance on the main stage of the Glassworks was like a modern reworking of 'A Star is Born'. Justin Vivian Bond
On the first night of The Gathering at the Poisson Rouge Justin Vivian Bond happened along. It was pretty late on in the proceedings and he arrived having already performed in another show somewhere else in the city. He sang two songs that night. The first, 'Revolution', was pretty great. And then he sang this and the hair stood up on the back of my neck. I don't know if the power of the piece translated completely - in fact I know it didn't, it couldn't have...
