The Anam Sessions will be premiering globally via the Other Voices YouTube. The bilingual series will also air on RTÉ television later this year, hosted by MayKay and new co-presenter Cóilí Collins. It will feature a number of performances and conversations captured exclusively as Gaeilge.
Minister of State for the Office of Public Works (OPW), Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran said:
‘’This is the third series of a unique partnership between the Office of Public Works and the visionary team at Other Voices. This livestream series will offer national and international audiences a virtual front-row seat at these unique performances. The ANAM sessions demonstrate that these sites are not just relics of the past, but vibrant, acoustic spaces that inspire contemporary music and showcase the Irish language”. I am delighted that we are shining a light on these sites- each of which is an intrinsic part of their local community and economy and are truly special places for visitors to enjoy.”
Philip King from Other Voices said:
“Other Voices is delighted to partner with the Office of Public Works (OPW) once again, and to bring beautiful music into a number of Ireland's most remarkable buildings, kept in store for us by the OPW. This year we visit the historic rooms of Emo Court House in Co Laois, Barryscourt Castle in Co Cork, The Chapel Royal in Dublin Castle and Áras an Uachtaráin in The Phoenix Park. The purpose of Other Voices: The Anam Sessions is to celebrate and promote Ireland’s heritage buildings and locations through unique performances by contemporary Irish musicians who illustrate the rich diversity of music and culture in Ireland today.”
