"Come on, dreamer, the night belongs to you..."
Tom Adams wants you to live in the present moment. From the delicate finesse of his piano playing to the intimacy of his falsetto vocals, Tom songs rely on an attentive audience. When it's works, he generates a unique kind of stillness. This was especially clear from his performance of 'Come On, Dreamer' for Other Voices as part of Tech Open Air Berlin.
The Cambridge born singer-songwriter has been based in the German capital since 2014, with his debut album Silence released in May this year. Speaking of Berlin he remarks "it's really a very intense city, so it's a good place to come and get some inspiration and see some people doing exciting things and measure yourself against that". That intensity comes across in the video below. Filmed in front of a hushed crowd at Riverside Studios in the heart of Kreuzberg, the tightrope walk of the song's chorus gets perfectly balanced by a gently pulsing piano. Outside a vibrant city hums, while the Riverside audience holds its collective breath for a special musical moment.
Tom Adams joins ua again on the Other Voices stage at Electric Picnic, but until then, enjoy 'Come On, Dreamer' below!
