Continuing on from the huge success of Other Voices Dingle earlier in the month, at the invitation of DCAL and Derry City Council the fabulous journey continues north to Derry for the second installment of the series, this February 7th, 8th and 9th. The first two acts we will be bringing to The Glassworks are Poliça a American synthpop, alternative rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesotaand Bellx1 from Dublin known for their wide range of styles, powerful live performances and intelligent witty lyrics.
For those who do not make it to The Glassworks there is a wide array of activity on offer across the city throughout the weekend, including live streaming from the Glassworks to a number of venues and bars in the city centre. Jim Carroll and Banter Salon will return to The Cottage in the Craft Village for a plethora of conversations, chats and musings on music, literature, film, politics and all things in between. The now infamous Other Voices Music Trail will also make a welcomed return, and will see bands and artists from all ends of the country travel to Derry to perform.
The open call for Music Trail performers will begin at midday Friday 20th December and remain open until at midday on Friday 10th January. All applications can be submitted www.othervoices.ie/opencall.
Tickets, once again, will be free and can be won through various online and media competitions so keep an eye out on the website, Facebook and Twitter. Information on more artists and events will be released in January.
