This week on RTÉ: Jacob Alon, Been Stellar, Nubya Garcia and Curtisy

The third episode of Other Voices lands tonight, Thursday 6th March, at 11pm on RTÉ2 and the RTÉ Player, with another night of brilliant music and conversation from the heart of Dingle town.

Joining us for episode 3: Jacob Alon, Been Stellar, Nubya Garcia and Curtisy!

Jacob Alon

Scottish singer-songwriter Jacob Alon crafts introspective songs that resonate with authenticity. Born in Fife and based in Edinburgh, Alon's music explores personal, raw narratives with haunting vocals and a mastery of the guitar and their sound is often compared to artists like Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainwright. It's a deeply moving performance, and we know its resonance will ooze through the screen to you at home!

Nubya Garcia

British saxophonist and composer Nubya Garcia has been a prominent figure in the contemporary jazz scene since her debut EP, Nubya's 5ive, in 2017. Her latest album, Odyssey, released in September 2024, has been praised as a rich, orchestral journey of self-discovery. The sheer talent of her and her band and the pace of the set makes for something truly exhilarating!

Been Stellar

Hailing from New York City, Been Stellar is a rising indie rock band known for their gritty sound. They draw inspiration from the city and capture its energy. Their debut album Scream from New York, NY has put them firmly on the map and we can't wait to share their Church performance with you!

Curtisy

Representing the newest and brightest of Ireland's hip-hop scene, Tallaght rapper Curtisy brings sharp lyricism, humour and contemporary poetry to the IMRO Other Room. An RTÉ Choice Music Prize nominee, Curtisy's work reflects his experiences and life in Dublin. It's an exciting Other Voices debut and we know we'll be seeing a lot more of him in the future!
