November Podcast - Rejjie Snow, Girl Band, Saint Sister

November 24, 2017

In this month's podcast we're looking back at eir Other Voices 2016.

Ahead of our annual pilgrimage to Dingle, we decided to take this opportunity to look back at last year's festival. As ever, eir Other Voices showcased a diverse and innovative range of artists. We spoke to three, rising Irish acts ahead of their performances in St. James' Church. Firstly, Danny Carroll speaks with Alan and Dara from the exceptional noise-rock quartet Girl Band. In a wide-ranging chat, the pair discuss plans for their much anticipated second album as well as Dara's hopes for establishing a Leonard Cohen inspired stage presence. Robbie Kitt then meets Morgan MacIntyre and Gemma Doherty, better known collectively as Saint Sister. The duo have charmed audiences across Ireland and further afield with their R n' B inspired atmos-folk. The duo speak about meeting each other at Trinity College and the development of their sound. Rejjie Snow is deservedly one of the most talked about new names in hip-hop. Robbie Kitt goes deep with the Drumcondra rapper, tracing his early career as well as plans for the future. Presented by Philip King, the podcast is available on iTunes and via Soundcloud.
