Ireland's Edge announces its first wave of speakers + tickets on sale now!

October 15, 2025

28–29 November | The Skellig Hotel, Dingle, Co Kerry

Ireland’s Edge returns to Dingle this November as part of the Other Voices festival, bringing together artists, thinkers, makers, activists and organisers to share ideas, stories and perspectives from the edge.

This year’s theme, Welcome Here, Kind Stranger // Fáilte Romhat, a Strainséir Shéimh, is a gentle call to empathy and belonging, taken from a lyric in the folk song The Lakes of Pontchartrain – a song whose own journey, both geographical and creative, captures the spirit of this year’s gathering.

Across two days of conversation, performance and reflection, Welcome Here, Kind Stranger will explore overlapping themes of humanity, art and place. We’ll hear from voices pursuing justice and peace in Palestine, from those examining the rise of AI and its impact on our world, and from experts offering timely perspectives on climate change, housing and gentrification. The programme will also celebrate the resurgence of the Irish language, the renewal of Irish craft and the wider creative renaissance unfolding across the country today.

The first wave of speakers who'll be joining this year's programme are:

Founder and Creative Director at J. Hill’s Standard, a contemporary hand-cut crystal and glassware company, Anike Tyrrell; Human Rights Activist and organiser of the Global Samud Flotilla, Caoimhe Butterly; Irish language broadcaster and writer, Emma Ferrari; Galway DJ and producer, Shampain; Founder of eco-guesthouse Native, Didi Ronan; artist, Domino Whisker; artist and musician, Gemma Dunleavy; marine ecologist, environmental scientist and activist, Karin Dubsky; knife-maker and artist, Hugo Byrne; creative director, photographer and filmmaker, Peadar Ó Goill; writer, Roisin Kiberd; Head of the Department of Environmental Science at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Sligo, Dr Salem Gharbia; medical doctor with Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Dr Sohaib Safi; and writer and journalist, Una Mullally.
