Dylan has presented coverage of Other Voices from Dingle, Derry & London for The Guardian online since 2011, interviewing artists and giving a sideways look at events. He also co-hosts the bi-monthly culture podcast Soundings with Irish singer songwriter and Other Voices veteran Lisa Hannigan. The podcast is produced by the Sony-Award winning team behind Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show. Dylan has presented and reported on television and radio for RTE and BBC.
Coming from a punk rock background, Dylan has been involved with 'DIY' initiatives since he was a young teenager organising all-ages gigs with his friends. From there he started his own punk bands, set up his own record label (Hide Away Records), released a gold-selling album by Irish band Heathers and turned his home The Hideaway House into a DIY music venue.
He’s toured the UK, Europe and North America extensively in dodgy vans and once drove an American band 12,000 miles around Europe in a Volkswagen Golf. This featured in his 2008 debut documentary film, Roll Up Your Sleeves, about the connection between music, global DIY counter culture and social spaces.
