Ynys

Ynys (Island) is the project of Dylan Hughes, ex-Race Horses and Radio Luxembourg. The songs of Ynys are rich collection of melancholic harmonies, over a soundtrack of 80’s sequencers, 70’s string machines, and fuzz guitars. 

From Aberystwyth, Ynys have released a series of singles on Libertino Records and their debut album is due for release on 4 November 2022. 

Their ambitious sound palette journeys from Big Star power pop to Beach House via cinematic strings, sung in Welsh and English. Their adventurous playful song craft and off-kilter psychedelic pop songs have led to singles of the week on Amazing Radio, BBC Radio Wales, and live sessions for BBC 6 Music's Marc Riley show.

Mae Ynys, sy’n hanu o Aberystwyth, wedi rhyddhau cyfres o recordiau sengl ar label Recordiau Libertino ac mae eu halbwm cyntaf yn barod i’w ryddhau ar 4 Tachwedd 2022. Mae eu palet sain uchelgeisiol yn teithio o bŵer pop Big Star i Beach House trwy gyfrwng llinynnau sinematig, gan ganu yn Gymraeg a Saesneg. Mae eu dull cyfansoddi caneuon anturus, chwareus a’u caneuon pop seicedelig anghyffredin wedi arwain at recordiau sengl yr wythnos ar Amazing Radio, BBC Radio Wales, a sesiynau byw ar gyfer sioe Marc Riley ar BBC 6 Music.
