The Academic

Fresh off a whirlwind few months of festivals and touring, including supports for Kodaline, Noel Gallagher, Catfish and The Bottlemen and as guests of The Strokes at their recent Hyde Park show in London, The Academic are gearing up to perform at Electric Picnic and to release their debut EP this autumn. "Different" the first release from the band, has been one of the hit records of the year in Ireland and has travelled internationally with Radio 1 in the UK and XFM also showing their support for the band. Guitarist, Matt Murtagh adds, "it was just one of those songs that took on a life of its own. We didn't expect it to take off like it did but in saying that we have ambition.
