Seán McKeon

Seán McKeon is one of Ireland’s leading traditional artists, known for his virtuosic and exhilarating performances on the uilleann pipes. He grew up in Dublin with his parents being his earliest musical influences.
In 2005, Seán was awarded TG4 Ceoltóir Óg na Bliana and in 2009 joined fiddler Liam O’Connor to release their duet album “Dublin Made Me” to widespread critical acclaim.

Seán is a keen collaborator with exponents of many different genres and has been a member of the Damien Dempsey band for the last 16 years. Recently Seán has collaborated and toured with Elvis Costello. Not only a breathtaking performer, Seán is highly in demand as a tutor and lecturer about traditional music and the uilleann pipes. He has just released ‘Salamanca’, a solo recording celebrating the individual expression inherent in the art of uilleann piping.
