Royseven

Formerly known as Jove, this homegrown six-piece are from Dublin, apart from lead singer Paul Walsh who hails from Clonmel. Their debut album, 'The Art Of Insincerity', was released in Ireland last October to enthusiastic reviews. On the album, which was recorded in Grouse Lodge Studios, Co Westmeath with producer Marc Carolan, the band construct a wall of sound around the soaring vocals of songwriter Paul Walsh. Like many classic break-up records, hurt and despair gradually give way to anger, defiance and the elation that comes from Walsh's eventual realisation that he has survived emotional cold turkey. It was released in Ireland on independent record label IRL, whose previous releases include Sinead O'Connor, Damien Dempsey, The Wonder Stuff and Sharon Shannon.Royseven have signed a major deal with Universal in Europe, where they have also won a sizeable sponsorship deal with Volkswagen. Their album will be released in the UK and Europe in early 2007.
