JayaHadADream

Jamaican-Irish rapper JayaHadADream deals in sharp, introspective lyricism and hard-hitting beats, bringing together grime, hip hop and a socially conscious approach to storytelling. Raised in Cambridge and finding her feet musically in Nottingham, Jaya draws on her own experiences of identity, race and inequality, delivering her words with a rawness and conviction that hits just as hard on record as it does on stage. Her breakthrough came in 2024 when she won Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition, earning a coveted slot on the festival’s Woodsies stage. Since then, she has brought her high-energy performances to Reading and Leeds, Boomtown and beyond, while making appearances on BBC 1Xtra’s Sounds Of The Verse with Sir Spyro, as well as Rinse FM, Reprezent, Balamii and Red Bull’s Raise the Bar cypher. With a name inspired by the Martin Luther King Jr. speech that hung in her childhood home, Jaya’s music is rooted in the belief that finding your voice can change everything.
