Ibeyi

19 year old sisters Lisa-Kainde and Naomi Diaz work together under the name Ibeyi, which means 'twins' in Yoruban. The pair are daughters of the late Cuban percussionist Anga Diaz (Buena Vista Social Club) and it is evident that music, soul and a gift for rhthym lie in their genealogy and upbringing. Their distinctive, memorable sound is comprised of honeyed vocals, keys and tribal like percussion. Together the twins combine modern pop, hip-hop and electronic influences with the traditional sounds of Yorùbán culture. Their debut album will be released in February 2015.
