Stephen James Smith has been a consistent front-runner of performance poetry in Ireland for several years.

Fusing old traditions and new sensibilites, Stephen James Smith has won the acclaim of audiences at home and abroad, performing as part of Glen Hansard’s Imagining Home concerts in Dublin and London. Stephen is a founder of LINGO Festival, Ireland’s only spoken word festival, and poetry curator of the annual First Fortnight Festival.  In 2016, he made a huge impact with his paen to his hometown 'Dublin You Are' before joining us at the Electric Picnic and St. James's Church in Dingle.  In 2017, Stephen was commissioned by the St. Patrick's Festival to produce 'My Ireland', a visual poem, filmed by Myles O'Reilly, produced by Conor O'Brien of Villagers and featuring contributions from Saint Sister and Colm Mac Con Iomaire among others.  Don't miss his set on the Other Voices stage at this years Electric Picnic.
