English singer/songwriter Richard Hawley will play four dates in Ireland in December. Mandela Hall in Belfast will be first off on the 2nd, with a performance in Dublin’s Vicar Street on the following night. Hawley will then move on to The Black Box in Galway and The Savoy in Cork on the 5th and 6th respectively. Hawley is set to perform at Electric Picnic in Stradbally next month, his first Irish performance since the recent release of his latest album, Standing at Sky’s Edge.

The electric picnic lineup has been finalised and a number of Other Voices artist will now be performing at the Stradbally Festival. Richard Hawley has released his seventh solo album, entitled ‘Standing At The Sky’s Edge’. The Sheffield artist presents quite a different sound in his new release to that of his previous work, notably 2009’s Truelove’s Gutter. Early reviews suggest this is definitely an album worth hearing.

The ninth season of the world renowned Other Voices music TV series will come to a close on RTÉ Two on Wednesday March 23rd. The season climax will feature an unmissable line-up of storytelling greats. Curated by the irrepressible Richard Hawley, the Sheffield man and his band are joined on stage by Pulp lead-man Jarvis Cocker and one of Ireland’s most lauded female voices, Lisa Hannigan. In the IMRO Other Room, the truly magnificent new talent, The Danger Is.

Presented by DJ Annie Mac, this, the ninth series of Other Voices has featured live performance, intimate acoustic sessions and insightful interviews with some of the most popular figures on the music scene. From international stars such as The National, Marina and The Diamonds, Ellie Goulding and Everything Everything to home grown households names such as Cathy Davey, Lisa Hannigan, Ryan Sheridan and James Vincent McMorrow. This installment of Other Voices has also given a tremendous TV platform to some of Ireland’s rawest new talent through the IMRO Other Room, including turns from Daithi O’Dronai, Lisa O’Neill and General Fiasco.
