Tonight, 13th February, RTE 2 will broadcast a special 2-hour programme with some of the highlights from Derry / Londonderry. A snap shot of performances and interviews will…
As Derry/Londonderry is the 2013 UK City of Culture, we thought it was fitting to make the trip north and find a venue with as much spirit and character as St. James' in Dingle.
We've chosen The Glassworks, a 170 year old Church in the heart of the city that hasn't seen much action in the last few decades. Coincidentally, the name of St. James also travels with us. The Glassworks was originally known as The Presbyterian Church at Great St. James St. It was also known as The Scot Church after Stewart Gordon the architect who designed it.
It has previously been used as a small venue for local events but next February will be the first time a television crew has made its way inside the walls. The Bedlam market occupied the place for a time; later this year it will host amateur boxing tournaments. New music will fit well within its walls for the three days of February 8th, 9th and 10th.
The Other Voices Music Trail will have live bands playing in a number of venues all over the city of Derry
