Skipper's Alley

Citing influences from Planxty to post-rock...

Skipper’s Alley are a seven-piece ensemble whose dynamic take on traditional Irish music has garnered wide critical praise and been featured on such diverse stages as The Late Late Show, La Festival Interceltique de Lorient, and the Irish Embassy in Zambia.  The group spring from harp-accompanied Sean-Nós songs to feral, unkempt sets of reels, creating a sound that is guaranteed to convert the uninitiated.  Described by The Irish Times as “gloriously three-dimensional”, Skipper’s Alley return from a tour of North America to play this year’s Other Voices stage at Electric Picnic.
